It's Wednesday today!
Yesterday was ...? Tomorrow will be ...? The day after tomorrow will be ...? What days are in the weekend? There are two days. Can you say all the days of the week in the correct order? Phonics to start. Literacy - practise writing the sound that you have learnt. Write as many words as you can think of with that sound in. Then choose one word and use it in a sentence. Remember what does a sentence begin with and end in? Dont forget finger spaces and try to write on the line. Numeracy - Spider maths! The link is https://wrm-13b48.kxcdn.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/05/Day-3-The-very-busy-spider.pdf Talking Together Number bond Incy! 10 wincy spiders climbed up the water spout. Down came the rain and washed 5 spiders out. Out came the sunshine and dried up all the rain. So 5 wincy spiders won’t climb the spout again! Repeat with different numbers. How many different ways can you make 10? (Number bonds to 10 = 1 and 9, 2 and 8, 3 and 7 etc) Use a ten frame to help you (slide 9) Adults - please draw a frame like the one in the slide. Use 10 objects to represent the spiders. Your child can then use the frame to help them takeway the washed away spiders and then count how many are left. If you dont like spiders then you can change the song and the insect! Maybe ladybirds instead? PLease also practise writing your numbers 0-10 and for some of you all the way to 20! Our song for today is Incy Wincy Spider https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_ek95wga4Xs Our story for today is Aaaargghh Spider! by Lydia Monks https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5df388jmToo Activity - If you like spiders then design a home for your spider! You can draw it or make a home out of paper, boxecs etc. What are you going to call your spider? If you don't like spiders then make a trap to catch your spider! What are you going to do with your spider when you havve caught it? Release it in the garden? Have a fun spider day!
