![]() Good morning. It looks like it might rain today! This morning your challenge for May is 5th May - Dance with your family to your favourite songs! We have VE Day this Frday. Writing - Find out about the people who help us who are in the Forces. They are superheroes who help keep us safe. Activities - to find out. What are the Forces? What are the men and women called who are in the Forces? Do you know anyone who is in the Forces? Make bunting - your adult can help you draw a triangle or a rectangle to make your bunting. Find out about our flag, the Union Jack. Draw the flag on your bunting. Start planning a 'Stay at home' street party. (See the picture above.) In your planning - what do you need to make? Food, decorations, music ... Write down your planning in your writing book. Have you got anyone in your family that you can ring and ask about VE Day? The song will be led by Dame Vera Lynn, 103, from a window at her home in Sussex. The event will form the centrepiece of a televised musical event VE Day 75: The People’s Celebration, which will begin at 8pm. Maths - practise writing your numbers 0 to 10. No wibbly wobbly letters - rememebr they all start at the top! (Challenge -you could even try all the way up to 20) White Rose maths is all about caterpillars. Make fingerprint caterpillars with paint (if you have no paint at home then make a caterpillar by drawing circles). Add one more part to his body. Try two more. Count how many parts he has. What if you took one part away? How many parts is he left with? Pattern making - choose two colours and make a repeating pattern caterpillar.
